Kyrenia harbour

One of the most picturesque harbours in the Mediterranean, crammed with colourful yachts and fishing vessels alongside lively pavement restaurants and old Venetian buildings, adjacent to a colossal Crusader castle and with a backdrop supplied by the beautiful Besparmak Mountains. Formerly known as Kyrenia, Girne is a rapidly growing town and makes an ideal base from which to explore the rest of North Cyprus. Lefkosia (Nicosia) is only 20 minutes to the south.
